Assistant Professor
Microbiology and Cell Science

The Department of Microbiology and Cell Science at the University of Florida invites applications and nominations for a 12-month tenure-track position as Assistant Professor to develop an independent research program in microbiology. Applicants should have a Ph.D., post-doctoral experience, and a strong publication record in the areas of microbial physiology, biochemistry and genetics.  Individuals with credentials in research related to microbial pathogenesis are especially encouraged to apply but all areas will be considered.  The successful candidate is expected to develop an outstanding research program supported with extramural funding, to supervise Ph.D. candidates, and to be an innovative instructor of undergraduate students in introductory microbiology for majors. Associate or Full Professor
Microbiology and Cell Science

The Department of Microbiology and Cell Science at the University of Florida invites applications and nominations for a 12-month position with academic tenure as Associate or Full Professor.  The faculty member is expected to have and maintain a strong, externally-funded research program in the area of microbial biochemistry, physiology and/or genetics.  The candidate is also expected to participate in our undergraduate and graduate teaching programs and must have a Ph.D.  The Department is currently recruiting highly qualified faculty to synergistically complement established research programs in microbial physiology, molecular biology and biotechnology and host-pathogen relationships, and developing programs in bioinformatics and comparative genomics.  Integration into existing focus groups, e.g. metabolic engineering and bioenergy development, and opportunities for interdepartmental/ intercollegiate collaboration are available.  Details of the Department and position may be found at http://microcell.ufl.edu.  Only electronic applications will be accepted and should include curriculum vitae, description of research interests, and names and addresses of three to five references.
