GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

 

To access the server please follow these steps: (Remember if you are outside of campus you have to use VPN and type UFAD\ before input your user name)

 

PC USERS:

1. Open My Computer (Computer in Windows Vista and 7)

2. Select TOOLS on the toolbar menu option

3. Select "Map Network Drive"

4. Select a vacant drive letter to use

5. Enter the path to the remote service (\\AD.UFL.EDU\IFAS\MICROBIO\)

6. Check the "Reconnect at Logon" box

7. Check the "Connect using different credentials " box

8. Left click on the "OK" button

9. When prompted, enter UFAD\Gatorlink_Username in the Name box and your Gatorlink Password in the Password box.

 

MAC USERS:

1. Click the Finder icon in the Dock.

2. Choose Connect to Server from the Go menu.

3. In the address field of the Connect to Server dialog, type the URL using this syntax:

 smb://ad.ufl.edu/IFAS/microbio

4. Click Connect.

5. When prompted, enter your Gatorlink Username (do not add "@ufl.edu") in the Name box and your Gatorlink Password in the Password box.
