The Lorca Laboratory a diverse group of researchers whose main focus currently is investigating a probiotic strain of bacteria called Lactobacillus johnsonii N6.2. Our scientists are studying a wide breadth of topics in microbiology and immunology. We specialize in protein purification and characterization, cell culture, and genetics. Currently, our largest project is a phase II clinical trial involving the safety and efficacy Lactobacillus johnsonii N6.2 as a probiotic treatment for individuals with Type I Diabetes.
