    Room 1054 Instructions

    • Using 1054's Built-In Mac for Zoom

      1) Turn on the TV in the podium using the Roku TV remote's power button ("TV power" in the photo below). The TV will automatically boot to the Mac input

      2) Once on the Mac input, use the podium mouse and keyboard to log into your zoom account. The computer is plugged into an ethernet connection so any WiFi connection from this computer is not necessary

      4) Set your camera for your Zoom Meeting to be the “AverCam570” and both your microphone and speaker to be the “HDL3000”

      5) Use the volume up and down buttons on the keyboard to toggle the computer volume (and Zoom meeting volume)

      6) If you choose to record locally, either email the recording to yourself or use the podium USB port and a USB flash drive to transfer the information.

      7) Be sure to sign out of your Zoom account after the meeting has concluded and turn off the television. 

      Roku TV Remote Control - Simple Setup & App Shortcuts - Compatible with  Roku TV models ONLY - Black

    • 1054 Screen Mirroring Instructions

      1054 features a 60-inch Roku TV that can 1) mirror Windows and MacOS devices and 2) an HDMI cable in the podium for direct-connection to the TV

      You must be connected to the Conference Room MCS Wi-Fi for screen mirroring to work. You can find the Wi-Fi password here.

       

      MacOS Instructions - "AirPlay"

      the wireless screen mirroring feature on MacOS is called "AirPlay" on MacOS. You must be connected to the Conference Room MCS Wi-Fi network (find the Wi-Fi password here).

      Step 1 - Turn on the Roku TV and Connect your device to Conference Room MCS Wi-Fi

       

      Step 2 - Click the control panel icon in the top right of MacOS. Look for the "Conference Room 1054 Roku TV"

      You might see a code displayed on the TV that you will need to enter on your device.

       

      Windows Instructions - "Connect to a Wireless Display"

      this screen mirroring feature is called "connect to a wireless display" or "cast" on a Windows device. Press "Windows key" + "K" to immediately access the Cast menu.

      Step 1 - Turn on the Roku TV and Connect your device to Conference Room MCS Wi-Fi

      Step 2 - Go to the Settings application and navigate to "System" then "Display". Scroll down until you see "Connect to a wireless display" or press the "Windows key" + "K"

      Step 3 - A panel will open in the bottom right of the screen. Click on "Conference Room 1054 Roku TV"

    • 1054 HDMI Instructions

      1054 features a 60-inch Roku TV that can 1) mirror Windows and MacOS devices and 2) an HDMI cable in the podium for direct-connection to the TV

      HDMI Connection Instructions

      1) connect directly to the HDMI cable in the podium

      2) use the Roku remote to change input to "podium HDMI". Press "home" ⌂ on the remote then navigate and select the "podium HDMI" input option. 

      3) If the TV is turned off and back on again, it will automatically switch to the in-podium Mac computer input.

    Room 1060 Instructions (Seminar Room)

    this room is best to be used for seminars, presentations, lectures, and classrooms. For meetings where there is open discussion, 1054 may be the best option. 

    • Using 1060's Built-In Desktop

      Seminar Room 1060 is equipped with a built-in desktop computer running Windows 11. It has 2 Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras that will capture the speaker and attendees for your lecture, seminar, or class. To sign-in to the computer proceed as follows:

      1. use your UF Gatorlink username and password to sign-in to the Windows log-in screen.
      2.  

    Room 1154 & 1254 Instructions

    • 1154/1254 Airplay (Wireless) Mirroring Instructions

      The Apple TV can be used to wirelessly mirror content from your Apple Device (iPhone, iPad, Mac) onto the TV in the room. This does NOT work for non-Apple devices.

      1) Join the room WiFi - On your device, join the WiFi network (either "MCS 1154" or "MCS 1254").

      2) Open Control Center

          a) On iPhone/iPad, swipe down from the upper-right corner to open Control Center.

          b) On Mac, click the Control Center icon in the top right of your screen. It may look like this: An image of the Apple Control Center icon

      3) Open the Mirroring Menu - Click the Screen Mirroring icon to mirror the entire screen. It may look like this: An image of the Apple Screen Mirroring icon

      4) Choose the TV - In the mirroring menu, select the Apple TV based on the room number ("MCS 1154" or "MCS 1254").

      5) Change TV Input - Press the input button on the LG remote and select "Apple TV".

      6) Enter the code (If Prompted) - If a code appears on the screen, enter that code on your device as well.

    • 1154/1254 HDMI (Wired) Instructions

      1) Plug the HDMI cable into your computer - Use a port on your computer, or an adapter if necessary.

      2) Turn on the TV - Using the power button on the TV remote.

      3) Change the TV input to PC - Press the input button on the LG TV remote and choose "PC".

    • 1154/1254 Built-in Mac Instructions

      The conference rooms also have a Mac available for viewing files or joining meetings.

      1) Turn on the TV - Press the power button on the LG TV remote.

      2) Change the TV input to Mac - Press the input button on the LG TV remote and choose "Mac".

      3) Use the computer - The keyboard, mouse, and USB hub below all connect to the room's Mac. You can plug your USB flash drives into the ANKER USB hub to view your files on the Mac.

      4) Leave the Mac on - When finished, ensure you are logged out of Zoom or any other accounts, and simply turn off the TV with the LG remote. DO NOT shutdown the Mac.

    • 1154/1254 Troubleshooting Help
      • If the camera, microphone, or speaker are not appearing on the computer, the OWL camera may have frozen. To restart:
        1. Find the camera that looks like this:

        2. On the bottom of the device, find the power cable. Unplug it for ~10 seconds.

        3. Plug the power cable back in, and wait for the camera to fully reboot. Camera options should now be available.
