    Turn Research Into Professional Momentum

Microbiology research is no longer confined to a single lab or discipline. Today's discoveries come from combining molecular biology, computational analysis and advanced imaging technologies to understand how microbial systems function and interact.

At the University of Florida, students work in research environments designed to reflect how science is actually done. Faculty lead active research programs that span human health, environmental systems and emerging biotechnology.

Students at every level have opportunities to engage with this work, gaining experience that prepares them for graduate study, industry roles and research careers.

    Supervised Research

Research at MCS is faculty-led and student-driven. Each supervised research lab is built around an active research program, giving students hands-on experience alongside scientists whose work is shaping the field.
